Unit was simple to setup and easy to get going. Problem is, this one will only hover. Controling the actual flight - forget it! I need to call for assistance since I think this one is not right! Concept is dead on, and rotational trim is cool. Nothing in the manual clearly describes directional control, and the manual implies that the channel can be changed from A,B,C for multi unit flights, but not possible. Chopper comes pre-set to a channel - controller can deal with three channels, but not the chopper itself. Better manual and a little more QC and I think you guys have a winner!
Helicopter was fun while it lasted. Small piece broke within a week of buying. Was told there was a one year warranty on it however the store would not replace it for me. I'd rather spend a few more dollars and get something that is of atleast a good quality.
pretty good actually really good extremly fun and definitly thought provoking. i was playing with this for at least 2 hours not counting the charge time which is like 5 mins. the only thing i hated is after awhile of playing the stick controlling the up and down brock off if you do buy this buy the 2 year warrenty!!!

Used product to have fun. Very easy to operate and durable, ideal for indoors. Short charge, requires frequent recharging.

Small size so it can fly indoors easily without risking knocking something precious over! I gave 2 of these to my nephews and they love them! I haven't tested the range on them yet, but we like them enough that my wife wanted one, so we'll get our chance!

i think it's worth the money!
This is really neat. After carefully reading instructions and allot of practice, you can steer it. You can go up and down and if you are persistent enough and you don't mind telling it "Turn Left", "Turn Faster", "Not that far!". then you can send it in a general direction.
Be sure to cut off the throttle to keep the toy from beating itself up. Or tie a rubber band so when you let go it will turn off itself
I initially had problems with spinning, and after setting the proper trim all would be good (for a little while anyway). Soon, a new tail propeller is needed to maintain rudder (thankfully 3 extras are included).
The manual states that the tail prop can become "damaged" and will need replacement. However, after countless accidents I could not see any visible damage that would account for reduced rudder authority.
After using all the included tail props, I could no longer control the spinning. Desperate to get my heli flying again, I put a spot of super glue onto the hole of one of the "broken" tail propellers to find that the heli works better than ever before. :)
Apparently, after a little use, the hole in the tail prop (where the motor shaft goes) starts to open up and no longer grips the shaft properly.
NOW THIS TINY COPTER ROCKS! :) (coming from a long time 6-channel RC heli pilot, that's quite a compliment)
Fun! It is a little challenging at first, but, will get easier if you master it. Once you master it is a lot of fun. it is fragile.

My very bright but very different nephews are both in sixth grade, eleven years old. Working with their pair of helicopters led to several discussions, with their engineer dads or their science teacher aunt (me) about lift, thrust, and tailwinds. We have definitely inspired some interest in aerodynamics.

lots of fun to play with!!
A bargain at [$]. Will take some hard knocks and nothing broken yet. Flies pretty good outside once the sun sets with no wind but you have to keep fairly close to it. From an engineering point of view it's quite remarkable how small it is and just how well it does work.

For those of you that cant keep it from spinning, I had this same problem too. I spent a good 5 hours over two days thinking i just hadnt figured it out, but it turned out the rear propeller was on backwards. As soon as I turned it around it worked fine.

Thought this would be a lot of fun but turns out it is hard to control even after trimming. The power switch is a very small piece of plastic that broke the day I got it and the battery only lasts about 5 minutes of flight. The cats enjoy it much more than I do.

I'm going to give this as gifts. I purchased 4. I have decided to open them in advance, charge the batteries and make the adjustments to the helicopter so the kids and adults can have quicker success and enjoy immediately.

after a while the trim control went out on it only had it a year,instructions say to remove tail and adjust but you cant because of the rear rotor motor.right now it's useless and going in a yard sale.i found [...] and it actually flies better than this one.

Very cool idea. It's so much fun to use. I wouldn't recommend giving it for a present. We bought two, and broke the first within the first couple of hours and the second the next day. It is a lot of fun though. So definitely get the protection plan!!!!

This is a great product. Because flying the helicopter is not easy to master it is a product you can come back to over and over again. Very durable. Great for a gift or personal use and the price is right!!

This is a really fun toy, but you should get the Brookstone Protection Plan so you can get it replaced when the delicate rotor blades get chipped.

The copters are a ton of fun, easy to operate, and a great diversion from a busy day. I'd definitely recommend as a toy for all; even adults who want to get back in touch with their child "self" once in a while.
At first thought they'd be too fragile, but definitely withstand reasonable use.

A lot of fun right out of the box. It is a great puzzle to solve because the controls are a bit sensitive. Be sure to start with new batteries in the controller - this shortens the charge time for the Chopper and it keeps the signal strong between the cotroller and the bird. Nice product.

This is our second Helicopter of the same model. The first one stopped working after several weeks. Fortunately, we were able to return it for a refund (Brookstone gift card) under the replacement warranty we purchased. We did like it enough to purchase another one with the gift card we were provided as the "replacement".This second unit appears harder to fine-tune for stable flying. We'll keep trying though as this is a fun little helicopter and has a longer flight time (battery power) than others. If we cannot get it adjusted for better flying stability, we'll return it and may give up on this model.

The day this helicopter was purchased, a 36, 30, 21 and 2 year old were all fighting over who's turn it was. This is great fun for kids of all ages.

This is the second helicopter I bought. The first one was less expensive, but broke after two flights. I have been fairly careful with this one, and after three weeks of flights, no problems. Plug in connector for charger is a little tricky.
Overall, lots of fun!

This little 'copter is a big hit with my husband. It is entertaining to watch him fly and he has a great time with it. It is tougher than it looks, standing up to many hard crash landings. We plan to buy more as gifts.

Bought this for my three year old last week when it caught his eye (always wanted a remote control heli). Ready to go out of the box. Instructions are weak at best, but the machine is an engineering marvel (Mech. P.E.). It has been indestructible (Every flight ends in a spectacular crash). The key to enjoying this toy is understanding the mechanics of helicopter flight: Main rotor spins clockwise, therefore body spins counter clockwise until it is trimmed. If you increase the throttle you need to add more clockwise trim. If you decrease the throttle you need more CCW trim. Turning: find the correct throttle setting for level flight, trim it off for no body spin, then use the yaw control to turn the body either left or right. Heli is nose heavy and therefore flies in the direction the body is pointed. Just tap the yaw control, don't hold down or you will have the spins. One other note, start to fly out of your other hand so that you can let the tail rotor get up to speed before launching the ship into the air with your free hand. Once you have mastered the hand launch and can cruise for a minute without crashing, try a ground launch. When ground launching, briefly use strong right yaw to offset the strong main rotor torque to prevent bad initial spin. Don't forget as the battery drains you will need to trim for decreased main rotor speed. Happy Flying!
This thing is easy to use. Mine just broke but im glad i got the protection plan! Service was easy to get and ill be flying again in no time.

I bought this as a Father's Day gift for my husband from our 7-year-old son, thinking it would be something fun that they could do together. It is fun for both of them, but the charge lasts such a short amount of time that they can't play with it very long without recharging it.
