Perhaps it works better in a large city, but I found it keeps an inaccurate temperature. If I want to use it in my city, I must pay an extra charge for the satellite and it still does not work well. Temps are usually off by at least 5 to 7 degrees, Sorry I wasted my money on this product.

The first weather watcher failed after the first year, but I had the extended warranty and received a upgraded replacement, model #588608. The upgraded model consistantly loses the radio signal and does not display information on numerous occasions during the day and night. My city is listed as one of the cities that receive Ambient's signal.

I have used the weather forcaster for the past year and found that it was pretty accurate and easy to use. I like to be able to see how cold it is outside at a glance. I appreciate the future forcast for planning. I like it so much that I ordered another one for my father. He farms and is always concerned about the weather forcast.

Accurate forecasting. Excellent product. We know exactly how to dress the kids for school. Be sure to change the battery when it's low so you're not stuck on yesterday's weather.

Great product - only drawback is the magnet doesn't stick to stainless steel refridgerator - but it does stick to all other metal surfaces

I got this product as a gift for my 60-year-old step dad and he loves it. He loves to watch the weather and seasons change and does not go outside a day with out watching the weather on the news. So what a much better way to get the weather than watching for it on T.V. He says it picks ups Kansas City’s weather from the satellite and is very accurate.

We wanted something that was going to tell us the weather in our area. This does the trick. It can be placed anywhere in the home so that it is easy to be seen in the a.m. when we are getting ready for work. Very handy product!
This is an update to an entry I made on the 17th of September. I was having difficulty with the unit post Hurricane Gustav. The people at Ambient assured me that they were working on the problem, and sure enough the device started working again over the weekend. I enjoy it very much and do recommend it.

I have always wanted to know the weather ahead of time. I own two homes, a primary and a secondary and would spend too much time on the internet or watching the news trying to get info about the weather in both the towns in which a live. With the Weather Forecaster, it is easy to flip from one town to an another and know what the temperature and forecast will be. That makes it makes it easier to pack and plan activities for my whole family.

I like the fact that I can see weather projected 5 days out, but because I live in a city that is not on its "listed" cities (ie Denver is a listed city vs. Colorado Springs is not and that is where I live), I had to subscribe to get that service. I would check the listing of cities before purchase so you know if you live in a "listed" city or if you will have to subscribe to get that weather service where you live (which is appx. $15-20/year).

The magnetic mount works very well on my refrigerator door next to my rotating work schedule. I can quickly plan my days off. The accurate clock also came in handy when resetting clocks around the house after a power outage. It is just such a handy little tool, taking up little space. I bought another as a gift to a friend.

This 4" x 4" wireless 5-day weather forecaster is a quick, convenient way to check the day's or week's weather, but I wish that it was a little larger. The live satellite data feed updates every 15 minutes, and has been very accurate to date. The forecaster has a magnet on the back to place on the refrigerator, a keyhole to hang on the wall, or a folding stand to place on a desk, etc. Mine is on the kitchen wall. I love this little device, and would highly recommend it. Great gift!
I have owned this product for over a year - it worked great for the first 9 months or so, then we stopped receiving the signal from the provider. We are listed in the area for signal coverage(Check ambientdevices website for coverage area - not all are covered). I've contacted the company to find out if there is a repeater problem in my area, but they don't respond to inquiries. Nice prodcut if they send the signal.
